Bassooneth cometh -Bassooneth goeth

Programme Note

Commissioned by the bassoonist Pedro Goncalves.

The piece explores the abilities of the bassoon as a solo heavy metal instrument. Inspired by the likes of Black Sabbath, Metalica and Nightwish the instrumentalist gets to explore fast and demanding rhythms, acoustic distortion and evocative melodies.
